  • Concept Development: I came up with the idea of creating a "drink-making kit" for Topo Chico's flavored mineral water, specifically the Twist of Grapefruit, to make the product more engaging and interactive for consumers. The kit includes four sparkling mineral waters, a branded Topo Chico cup, garnishes for the drink, and a recipe that pairs well with the flavor of grapefruit, offering a full experience rather than just a product.

  • Packaging Design: I designed the e-commerce packaging to enhance the unboxing experience. The box features the flavor and Topo Chico branding on the top, with detailed directions for the recipe inside. I also incorporated storytelling about the brand on the left side and a QR code on the right, leading customers to explore more flavors and recommended recipes online. The front and back of the box showcase the logo, shipping information, and the range of other flavors offered.

  • UX/UI Ideation: I envisioned a seamless digital-to-physical experience where users could scan a QR code from the package to access additional recipes and product details online. This integration would increase engagement with the Topo Chico website, encouraging customers to explore other products and content.

  • E-commerce Strategy: I developed a scalable idea for expanding this drink-making kit to Topo Chico’s other flavors, such as lime and tangerine, making the concept adaptable and versatile across the brand’s product range.

Brief: How can Topo Chico elevate its e-commerce presence and enhance consumer engagement through a creative, product-driven experience?

  • For this individual project I was tasked with selecting a brand and promoting one of its products through an e-commerce concept that fostered customer engagement. The goal was to design a product experience that went beyond mere packaging, incorporating storytelling elements to create an engaging, visually appealing, and functional unboxing experience. This experience had to seamlessly guide customers from the excitement of unboxing to exploring additional online content. This assignment required me to craft the packaging for a brand's shipments, considering various elements to enhance the overall experience. I needed to design all components thoughtfully. I chose Topo Chico and aimed to boost consumer interaction with its flavored mineral waters.

Top Panel

The top of the box introduces the kit and features the flavor and logo.

The left side of my box includes a story about the brand which is often used in their branding.

The front of the box would include the logo and the shipping information.

Inside of Top Panel

The inside of the box contains the directions for the recipe.

Bottom Left Panel

The right side includes the nutrients and a QR code that would lead customers to the website to learn about other flavors offered/recommended recipes.

The back of the box would include the other flavors TopoChico offers.
